Company/Organization: ABC Inc.
Topic of Internship
ABC, Inc. is a nationwide television network that provides entertainment and vital information for its viewers. Although ABC, Inc. is a big company in itself, it is owned by an even bigger company: Disney. The Walt Disney Company is divided into four major business segments. ABC, Inc. falls into the Media Networks segment. Within the ABC Television network is ABC Entertainment, ABC News, ABC Sports, ABC Kids, and ABC Daytime. At my internship, I predominantly spent time working with ABC Daytime in the Photography Department. This is a small, close knit department whose main goal is to please the fans by taking and issuing photos of ABC footage to the media.
Summary of Internship
Interning at ABC's Photography Department opened my eyes to the reality of working in an office. In this laid back and comfortable environment I performed office clerical tasks and occasionally accompanied the photographer to daytime shows such as "One Life to Live" and "The View." In the office I scanned and filed photos into the archives. In doing so, I learned to use Photoshop to improve the quality of the pictures. My tasks also consisted of assisting my mentor in taking some publicity photographs in the studio.
If you are seriously interested in photography and its significance to a television network, then this internship is for you!
