Topic of Internship
Cortex-Vertical is has always been a company of convenience; they develop websites for a wide array of businesses from law firms to printing presses. These websites incorporate an advanced skill of CSS, PHP, and Flash to produce a high level of attractiveness and convenience. My mentor, William Hamilton has numerous bookshelves of text that explain the dynamic fundamentals of making a website people will keep coming back to; he has grasped a concept of design that incorporates the continuous flow of new styles users see on the latest commercial websites and the important protocol of classic web development.
Summary of Internship
As an intern at Cortex-Vertical, I worked with the back-end development team, programming scripts for numerous sites primarily in CSS and PHP. From the moment I began the internship I was taken through a typical day at the company, attending meetings with clients and learning the fundamentals of visual balance. 2 weeks into the internship, I was already working with the design team, programming multiple aspects of websites and utilizing Adobe Photoshop for design. In future projects I was more involved with Flash MX-related projects to improve my visual design skills.
If you donít know CSS, Photoshop, or PHP that well, it may be harder for you to carry out the tasks given to you at the internship. Cortex-Vertical demands a stable background in web design, so if youíre just beginning or plan on learning the trade a week before setting up an interview with them, it may be tougher for you to get a spot and work there. However, if you have a pretty good idea and are familiar with a bit of Photoshop and CSS, it will not be too much of an issue; the employees at Cortex-Vertical take the time out to help you and aid you in learning whatever you may not know yet. Just be prepared to work. Working at Cortex-Vertical, your experience will truly be one of genuine quality.
