Summary of Internship
As an intern at Son & Hong, I am expected to come in on a timely basis, dressed appropriately and behave in a professional manner. My tasks have included secretarial duties such as answering and making phone calls, scanning documents, mailing documents, and accompanying the lawyer to court and closings. Other work can be slightly more physical such as organizing legal files, replacing the water cooler, and disposing the trash. There are times however, when I have performed tasks closely resembling the work of a paralegal, and I have had instances where the attorneys regard me as their legal assistant. Interning at the firm has also fostered intangible but valuable skills that can only be accrued to experience in a legal office setting such as interacting with others and adapting to changing circumstances.
