Summary of Internship
At my internship I have been getting a feel for the accounting field. I do a lot of accounting tasks that help me see accounting in a different light. I began my internship doing simple clerical tasks. I made copies and answered phones. Gradually, Mr. Fink, Joanne, and Robin introduced me to Lotus, QuickBooks, Superforms, computer programs for spread sheets, accounting and taxation forms respectively. I did a variety of tasks from bank reconciliations to working on individual tax returns (1040’s). I also changed pages from CCH’s which are volumes of books with tax laws. Weekly, we received new pages which had to be replaced with old pages within the book. Overall, I learned a lot about responsibility, dedication, organization, and professionalism. Performing these tasks helped me get a look at what it is I will be doing in the future.
