Summary of Internship
UNDP is divided into different cooperation’s that target all world wide issues. There are four main points which the UNDP tries to cover which include Democratic governance, Poverty reduction, Crisis prevention and recovery, and Environment and Energy. I specifically worked at The Special Unit for South-South Cooperation (SU/SSC) - UNDP. This unit was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1978 and is hosted in UNDP. The primary goal is to promote, coordinate and support South-South and triangular cooperation on a Global and United Nations system-wide basis. My main responsibilities included organizing a volunteer student task force which would help for the Fourth Annual UN Day on December 19th. On top of this I was also heavily involved in my own research paper examining how exactly leadership skills are used in the United Nations Development Programme and South – South Cooperation.
