Summary of Internship
Being an intern at Donna Karan means much more than bringing coffee to my mentor or making photo copies. It’s thought provoking and educational, while at the same time, I still become a great help in the office. My tasks in the office include attending pre-production meetings, model fittings, taking and copying fit notes, handling samples and the basic intern tasks of making copies or putting folders/binders together. Though these tasks sound simple or easy, they teach me a lot about the fashion industry as well as the production and marketing (finance) deals of the industry. Also, though my main mentor is Lisa Rosa, I have become very close to other employees in the office who have become my second mentors. It has become a great experience to work with others in an office environment and learn much about working in the real world.
