Summary of Internship
At the In-Vitro Fertilization Center, I learned about the opportunities couples have to conceive a child, especially in difficult situations. While at the Fertilization Center, I had the chance to aid and assist many sub-departments within the center. The sub-departments I assisted and observed included different laboratories, the receptionist department, the billing department, etc. My tasks included more than the typical filing and running errands. For instance, in one of the labs, I was allowed to observe and help run tests on blood and semen samples. I tried to help whenever I could, offering a hand to whomever needed it or whenever it was asked of me. Being someone who wants to enter the field of medicine, specifically the neonatal and obstetrics fields, I gained better exposure to more than what is seen in the just the doctor’s office.
