Summary of Internship
The Sales Department focuses on planning events from corporate meetings during the week to social events on weekends. Everyone works together towards the ultimate success of the hotel and the environment is very professional yet comfortable. As a Sales intern, my role is to help my mentor, as well as anyone else in my department. A major part of what I do is create sales kits and help carry out the marketing strategies the Sales Department have for attaining new corporate and social business. I also help my mentor organize and keep track of the hotelís Innsiders program, which is a points tracking system that benefits frequent corporate users of the hotel. In addition to these two main focuses of my internship, I help with everyday tasks such as filing, copying, and sourcing, which I have learned a lot about sales systems and procedures from. Along with all of these consistent elements of my role, I occasionally have mini-projects based on whatever is going on in the hotel at that time, which help keep my internship engaging. Anyone who is interested in hospitality business, sales, marketing, or even other departments in a hotel should seriously consider interning at the Clinton Inn Hotel.
