Summary of Internship
Interning at the JCC Therapeutic Nursery is not an average experience. I interact with the children and their parents, trying to create a social bond. Not only do I look after the children, but I also assist the teachers in any way possible whether it is cleaning up the toys or setting up for snack time. Because it is a nursery, the children have scheduled blocks of time where an activity is assigned. I observe the teachers and their methods of teaching. Through my experience, I have been able to witness growth in the studentsí social skills. Itís amazing to see how different the children behave in such a short amount of time. Later in life, these children will hopefully be able to attend a normal school, and so Iím proud to be a part of a life-changing program.
