Summary of Internship
At A&M/Octone Records, I have been given the opportunity to learn a little about everything in the music industry. Due to its small size, A&M/O allows me to learn about marketing, finance, artist development, scouting, radio, and others topics all in the same day. On top of the “intern duties”, I get to sit in on production and office meetings. These meetings show me exactly what it takes to keep all the artists happy and the company making money. I am assigned projects from different departments which range from competitive artist research to finding the best Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles. With every task that is given to me I learn more about the industry. But I learn the most from just listening to what goes on in the office and asking questions. The knowledge that I have gained with my time at A&M/Octone Records is priceless. But I see the relationships that I have formed with the employees there as something that I will use for the rest of my life.
