Summary of Internship
I intern in the Radiology Department at the Hospital for Special Surgery. There is a lot of interesting things to observe in the Radiology Department. In the Radiology Department I get to observe X-Rays, MRIs, and Ultrasounds. Besides learning about the radiation and technology involved in these procedures, I also get to learn what it is like to be a tech. I get to learn about the daily highs and lows of being a radiology technician at a hospital. What I also learn at my internship are the medical terminologies for body parts. I learn words such as the cervical spine, thoracic spine, lumbar spine, sacrum iliac, pelvis, etc. As an intern it is my job to care for the patients and assist in anything they need. I also need to transport patients to various floors of the hospital. It is my job to make their visit and stay at the hospital a special and good one. At the end of the day this internship makes me feel good. It makes me feel as someone who is important and contributing to society in a positive way. It is a pleasure to attend internship every Thursday because the working place at this hospital is as close as a family and it is something that it is very unique. The techs at this internship not only instruct and teach, but they also give advice whenever I need it. Overall interning at this internship has improved me as a more social person and it has taught me how to deal with people on a daily basis.
