Summary of Internship
My internship has given me the opportunity to follow various doctors on their daily cases, rounds, and appointments, all of which entail many aspects of the veterinarian field. Every Thursday, I am able to observe one of the many departments that Oradell Animal Hospital has to offer, including Oncology, Cardiology, the Critical Care Unit, Surgery, etc. During the weeks where I am lucky enough to follow a specific doctor, I am able to observe how appointments and procedures are carried out in that specific division of the hospital. Although I am limited to the amount of “hands on” procedures that I can do because I am still only a high school senior, I have been able to watch very intriguing events and surgeries. Most of the doctors and staff are very friendly and willing to answer any questions of mine relating to the veterinary field. Although I may be in the same department for two weeks in a row, the animals that come through the doors are all different, and therefore make my experience at Oradell Animal Hospital a very unique one.
