Background Information

Recognized throughout the Tri-State Area as the builder of choice for highly designed and technically sophisticated projects, F.J. Sciame Construction Co., Inc. (Sciame) brings a 35-year history and a proven track record of completing a wide range of buildings and interior spaces on time, within budget and for demanding clients. What sets Sciame apart from other Construction Management firms is its dedicated staff and its organizational structure that promotes a “hands-on” team environment. The firm’s accessibility, responsiveness and attention to detail have earned Sciame the reputation of having integrity, passion for its work and a “can do” attitude. This attitude helps to foster a partnering approach that benefits all members of a project team -- owner, owner’s representative, architect, engineers and other consultants. This unique approach has consistently resulted in the firm’s ability to exceed client expectations.

Summary of Internship

As an intern at F.J Sciame Construction Co. on Wall Street, New York, I have experienced the fast paced environment of the business world. Facing strict deadlines, I have learned to become a more organized, quick thinking individual and efficiently complete work to the best of my ability. Under the guidance of a mentor in the Marketing division, I learned marketing and advertising etiquette as well as developed my social skills. Also, I have observed the certain abilities and expertise that are requisite to engineers and architects alike. I sat down one to one with an engineer who explained to me the process of constructing buildings and all the fine details that they must go over. This opportunity has greatly influenced my own perspectives for the future and opened my eyes to what is the real world.
