Summary of Internship
The Biomedical Engineering department of HUMC is one of the most important in the hospital. It is here that I learned various theories and hands-on, technical skills related to machines that I would have learned years from now. All this knowledge really put me ahead of the competition. I worked alongside my mentor and friend, Joseph Idoko. He taught me how to troubleshoot and repair machines; fixing them without necessarily knowing what they do. He also taught me how to deal with other people (when we were called down to work in a certain unit). Above all, I believe the most valuable aspect of this internship was the general life lessons Joseph talked to me about. From college applications, to possible troubles I might face, to have a good work ethic; I feel that having someone who's had these experiences share it with you s invaluable. I strongly suggest looking into this internship of you’re even slightly interested.
