Summary of Internship
At the Valley Hospital, I was able to experience and work in two rotations of my choice, the Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Pharmacy Department. I chose these departments mainly because I was at a point in my life when I was stuck choosing between two professions to pursue as a career. Working with both nurses and pharmacists truly helped me have a direct idea of what sort of an environment I may potentially be working with later in my life. In the Maternal-Fetal Medicine department, I mostly shadowed nurses and doctors while observing various procedures. I was able to ask all the questions I ever had, while also building relationships that allowed me to do so, comfortably. In the Pharmacy department, I shadowed pharmacists on their medical rounds and completed tasks that are performed in the pharmacy department in a hospital setting on a regular basis. Overall, the time I spent interning at the Valley Hospital has been an extremely rewarding experience.
