Summary of Internship
Interning at The Valley Hospital was both an amazing and enriching experience. When I was given the opportunity to choose which department I wanted to intern with, I chose the Pediatric Emergency Room. Every Thursday I basically shadowed one of the four doctors on call. Having the opportunity to follow around a doctor allowed me to see a real work environment. I observed the patient/doctor interaction and I learned how doctors diagnose patients. I also was able to witness some pretty cool things, like a patient who attempted suicide. Some days were slow and had minor emergency patients, but other days were hectic and had countless patients in need of assistance. Overall, interning at The Valley Hospital was extremely rewarding.
