Summary of Internship
I work in the marketing department. I am happy with the role I have taken in the company because both my mentor and the CEO trust me with important tasks that are detrimental to the companyís success. Even though I do not work directly beside my mentor he still makes sure that my work is completed in an orderly fashion. Although Iíve spent quite some time at this internship, I have worked on three different projects throughout my time there. My first project was to prepare an EHR (Electronic Health Record) for the company on an excel spreadsheet. This EHR included the names of companies, addresses, programs they used, and the people in charge. The company used this list in order to reach out to other companies throughout the whole nation and thus expand their own company by doing so. This project required me to hone my searching skills because I had to find information on so many companies and itís easier said than done due to the lack of information some companies have or even because of poor website design. The second project I worked on was collecting information for account renewals for our clients. This was the most interesting to me because I got to log on as an admin and see the inner working of Max M.D. After collecting contact information as well as account expiration dates Kevin and I made calls to the corresponding health professionals. It was a fine experience because I learned and built good phone etiquette thanks to a written out script made my Kevin. The third project I worked on was filling out an HIE (Health Information Exchange) record which is very similar to filling out the EHR. The only major difference is that the websites I go on are usually government websites instead of independent company websites.
