Today, Hackensack Medical Center is one of the top 50 hospitals in the United States. It was founded in 1888 with 12 beds becoming Bergen County’s first hospital. HUMC is Bergen County’s biggest employer as well as New Jersey’s largest provider of inpatient and outpatient services. The hospital offers many services to patients; one of the most important is proper nutrition. The Lobby Café, opened every day and located in the Link Lobby, is part of the Department of Nutrition & Food Management. The department is in charge of making sure an appetizing meal plan is available for every patient who visits the hospital.
Summary of Internship
As an intern in the Pediatric Surgery Department at Hackensack University Medical Center you will assume the responsibility as a student overviewing surguries conducted in the operating room on Thursdays. You will gain a vast amount of knowledge along with many new experiences along your way. In times when surgeries are not being conducted, you will be helping out in the filing room; pulling out charts and getting upcomming appointments schedualed.
