Summary of Internship

Interning at the 38th Legislative District office has broaden my views and opinions on how much government plays an important role on the lives of common people. Through my internship, I have learned the day-to-day activities that government employees have to do, as well how a it is to be an assembly member and all the responsibilities such person has as an elected official . Though my experience contains many of the basic elements of any office internship, such as scanning and filing documents, I have done several key projects. One of these projects is assisting with the creation of a website for the assemblyman, and assisting the legislative aids as well as the assembly member when we all went to Trenton for committees and assembly voting days. This experience has helped me understand what state government does and has encouraged me to become more involved in my community and local government.
