The mission statement of this court is: "we are an independent branch of government constitutionally entrusted with the fair and just resolution of disputes in order to preserve the rule of law and to protect the rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the United States and this State." The Court Administrator and Deputy Administrator, who are appointed by the mayor, are responsible for carrying out the rules, directive, memorandum, policies and amendments of the New Jersey Judiciary System, as well as procedures relating to the operation of the Court.

Summary of Internship

As an intern at this court, there was not a day that I did not learn. Though filing and attaching notices sound like menial tasks, they make all of the difference. It is important to handle these legal documents with care because records are a vital part of the court systems of our country. Every single case can be used as precedence for future circumstances and it is vital, that these documents be properly organized. Not only did handling these documents make me feel useful, I learned a lot from reading them. There are offenses that people are charged for that I would have never considered, if I were not to have been exposed to these tickets. For example, I never knew people had the audacity to give a police officer a false identity when confronted. My mentor was also a great help. By learning from her, I have grown to truly appreciate what happens behind the scenes. I have seen first-hand that a lot of effort goes into making courtroom proceedings happen and anyone looking to be a lawyer or anyone in law enforcement would be fortunate to have an opportunity like this. If someone can't truly appreciate the small things like filing and stapling, they will never be able to conquer the large tasks that come with handling cases, trials, arrests, etc. I am truly grateful for my senior experience
