Summary of Internship

Arriving at Summit Advisors Group (SAG), I knew little of what the accounting world entailed except for an accounting class that I happened to be placed in. My mentor, Mr. David Lee, made sure by the time was done interning at SAG, I would be efficient in bookkeeping, reviewing tax returns, and understanding financial statements. He took the time to guide me through the basics of Quickbooks, an accounting software that makes life easier for accountants. Mr. Lee showed me how to transfer the debit and credit entries from bank statements onto Quickbooks. It was a slow process, but every Thursday, I worked to improve my bookkeeping efficiency. Those who surrounded me in the workplace were always open for me to ask any questions about Quickbooks or accounting in general. That environment positively shaped me into diligent worker with time management and computer skills. I also learned the fundamentals of individual tax returns, general office management, and fundamentals of corporation and partnership returns. The profound experience of interning at SAG has truly impacted my knowledge and actions greatly, which I will always be thankful for.
