Topic of Internship
Britton Hill Capital is a boutique investment bank which operates as a subsidiary of Further Lane Asset Management. It has been in operation since 2006 and specializes in M&A, equity raises, restructuring, and investment advisement. The firm has worked with deals of various sizes and is industry agnostic with its current deal sizes ranging from $2 Million to $1.5 Billion. It has twelve employees and is located at 555 Madison Avenue, the center of the private equity and venture capital world with a combined $10 trillion of assets under management located in the surrounding ten square blocks. The firm is a sell side firm which translates to the firm almost exclusively dealing with selling businesses and capital raises.
Summary of Internship
As an intern at Britton Hill Capital I participate directly in facilitating client interactions and assisting senior management in the restructuring of business, valuation reviews, and business plan revisions. A regular day often includes updated sales sheets, revising revenue models, sitting in on strategy meetings, and providing support for sales staff. On occasion I travel with my mentor, Roy Clauss, to hedge funds, venture capital firms, and private equity firms where we pitch business ventures to fund managers. My work space is a desk, three monitors, a phone and a Bloomberg terminal to look up financial information. I take NJ transit and the subway to the office. This internship has been valuable in teaching me the ins and outs of the financial world as well as proper conduct at a professional and executive level.
