Summary of Internship
I intern in the Nutrition and Food Management department at Hackensack University Medical Center. My daily tasks involve first signing in in the volunteer office and then reporting to my mentor. My mentor, Donna Durado, would then assign me my task for the day. These tasks sometimes vary during each week. On some days I might be helping out in the hospitalís main kitchen. On other days I might help out at the coffee shop, located in the main lobby. I also received the opportunity to shadow registered dieticians and even work with my mentor with some of the departmentís projects. This internship is perfect for individuals who wish to get into a field, involving nutrition and dietetics. This internship provides a great opportunity at a learning experience.
