Marriott International, Inc. offers its guest a variety of hotels to choose from raging from luxury such as JW Marriott®Hotels, Bulgari Hotels & Resorts® to more affordable options like Courtyard by Marriott®. The Marriott can proudly say they have been a leader in the hospitality industry since 1927. In November of 2013, White Lodging – the largest manager of Marriott hotels in the United States- assumed management of the Teaneck Marriott at Glenpointe, thus providing the hotel’s guest with outstanding service and experience.
Summary of Internship
While interning at the Teaneck Marriott, every Thursday was a new experience. I would arrive at the hotel and go to the Human Resources department and meet Miledys the Human Resources Manager, where she would tell me what department I would be working with that day. Throughout the internship I worked with different departments such as Sales, Restaurant and Human Resources, giving me the opportunity to experience different aspects of the hotel. During my time interning at the Marriott I learned the importance of having all the different departments work with each other’s in order to run a successful hotel. This internship provided me with the opportunity to learn skills such as how to properly set a dining room table, room service, but more importantly this internship gave me the chance to dress up and experience what the rest of my life would be like. Throughout my experience I learn how to communicate better with others and the importance of being professional at all times not matter what the situation is.
