Summary of Internship
As an intern for the Teaneck Marriott at Glenpointe, I would consider my experience to be an employee of various hotel departments. Every week, I was placed to assist with different departments on a cycle basis. So, for examples, when I work with the sales department, I helped with creating weekly trend reports, corporate engagement opportunities, clientele information, and even had the opportunity to shadow the Director of Sales. Departments at the hotel include Sales, Housekeeping, Restaurant, Engineering, Human Resources, and Banquets. At this internship, I learned the responsibilities that come with managing a hotel and that a lot of various skills within the hotel culminate to ultimately satisfy the guests. Also, the importance of handling every situation with professionalism was a skill that I came to learn quickly because of my experience with this internship. In summation, I loved my experience with this hotel and it ultimately solidified my desire to pursue hospitality/hotel management in college.
