Summary of Internship

As an intern at Scotiabank, I was responsible for assisting in most matters of accounting. Having worked under the manager of accounts payable, my tasks were more centered on expense reports, invoice reports, and data entry. In the beginning, I had to organize files for both employees and vendors for the fiscal year. Once settled my job became more in-depth and important and included the creation of employee expense reports and sending out payments. Later, I learned how to process data into the company software, which logs information and maintains organization. Throughout my time at Scotiabank, I had the pleasure of meeting with many employees in various departments. These departments ranged from equity derivatives sales to foreign exchange. I made valuable connections that have provided me with insight and knowledge of the world of finance. The environment is extremely professional, yet friendly and comfortable for a great learning experience.
