Summary of Internship
As an intern representing Center for Hope and Safety I have front row seats to the steps the victims take in rebuilding their life after a tragedy. I get to bond with beautiful and amazing children. I am allowed to read a book with them, hold them, play with them, and sit with them. I allow them to feel loved and safe in my arms. I am able to see the amount of people who help the shelter provide for these victims. I help organize the numerous donations they receive. I am also able to see the amount of people who take some time of their day to volunteer their time helping victims in different ways. I get to participate in extraordinary events held for the victims. They also have fun events for the children I am able to help organize. This agency allows me to view different ways a single person can make a difference in someone’s life, whether it is directly or indirect. I am giving the power to help them in distinct ways. I am giving the trust to be around and connect with the victims and the children. As an intern I am fortunate to have created fun and distinct memories with wonderful people and assist in creating a new beginning in their life.
