Summary of Internship

As an intern in Englewood Hospital, I was able to interact with the doctors, nurses, and patients. Routinely working in both the fourth and eighth floors, I was able to have admission into the storage and patientsí rooms. I was responsible for refilling the gloves in each of the patientsí rooms and making sure they had what they needed, such as mouthwash, tissues, water, etc. Having the responsibility to give out such products to the patients, I needed to make sure that the patients did not receive stuff that were not permitted to them. Therefore, I was able to learn what the different signs in front of the patientsí rooms signal and made sure to contact the doctors and nurses if help was needed. Besides the nursing routine I was committed to, I also interned in the courtesy office where I discharged patients, delivered specimens from one department of the hospital to another, delivered flowers to the patients, and so forth.
