Summary of Internship
As an intern in the Medical Affairs department, I have had the chance to jump head first into the pharmaceutical world. I have met with several PharmDs, the Vice President of Legal, and people from Drug Safety, and Finance. In a company like this, every department is interconnected which has given me a taste of what the biotechnology industry has to offer. Every Thursday, I help my mentor, Donna Morton, with the details and organization of advisory boards, domestic conferences in which doctors discuss new therapies. Through this, I have mastered Excel, making tent cards, selecting hotels, and even booking/canceling flights. With Donna’s influence, I have also had a chance to publish three articles in the Rutgers PharmD Newsletter, The Fellowship Chronicles. Being an intern at Acorda Therapeutics has further solidified my future goals of being a lawyer in the biotechnology field.
