Summary of Internship

As an intern at Progressive Promotions, I am given the opportunity to learn and explore all of their departments. The purpose was to see the way the business worked by taking part in all of the departments from the beginning of the sales process all the way to the billing process. My year was divided in a way that I would spend about two months each in the Sales Department, Production Department and finally the Accounting Department. The Sales Department is in charge of making proposals to clients of different products we offer depending on the theme, idea clients have in mind or the event the client will be holding. In the Sales Department I had the opportunity to make real proposals for clients. Along with that, I learned how the pricing works since we are distributors of the suppliers, in other words we are the “middle man.” Then I was allocated to the Production Department where project managers took me through their responsibilities such as sending orders to vendors, confirming and proving details of orders, requesting proofs, acquiring tracking numbers and sending shipping and delivery confirmations. I learned how this extensive and complex process works by doing all of this myself every Thursday.
