Summary of Internship

My weekly internship at Hackensack University Medical Center consists of a wide range of tasks on the Non-Invasive Cardiology department floor. When I arrive in the morning I report to 5Main and shadow an echocardiogram technician. We receive our cases for the day, which range from inpatient, outpatient, bedside, NICU, PICU, and nursery patients. I have observed multiple tests in the past ranging from echocardiograms to transesophogeal echocardiograms, as well as stress test echocardiograms. The patients range from one-day year old newborns to those in their 80s and 90s. I can certainly state that this internship has affirmed my future aspirations of wanting to join the medical field, specializing in Cardiology.
