Summary of Internship
If interested in the field, an internship for Biomedical Engineering at HUMC is a good place to start looking. By working with my mentor, Joseph Idoko, I learned a lot about the field of work for Biomedical Engineering that deals with medical equipment and electrical safety. He taught me small things like basic circuitry and how to analyze and interpret circuits, which I know is knowledge that will be of great value in the future. We also walked around the hospital a lot, which gave me the opportunity to learn about the different departments in the hospital, medical terminology, and how several pieces of equipment worked. Joseph not only taught me basic knowledge about the profession, but we also had several deep discussions about work ethic, social skills, and life in general. I enjoyed this internship a lot and I strongly recommend it for anyone looking for an opportunity to explore the field of Biomedical Engineering.
